About this role

The purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Youth & Family Ministry in personally evangelizing and discipling female middle school and high school students and to oversee discipleship to female students. Lexington Presbyterian Church is a community of 400-500 followers of Jesus, and has a youth ministry with 85 active students.

Assistant Youth Director For Girl's Discipleship

Qualifications

Have a genuine love for students and the ability to relate to girls from 6th to 12th grade.

Have an understanding of youth culture.

Have the knowledge and ability to help organize and implement strategy for ministry.

Possess some experience in student ministry.

The candidate for this position should be a female.

Responsibilities

Assist with ministry communications.

Maintain up-to-date rosters of all students.

Adhere to policies and procedures regarding child protection, budgeting and reporting.

Meet weekly with the Director of Youth & Family Ministry.

Help plan, execute, and attend all youth programs, retreats, and events.

Lead one small group with the goal of evangelizing, equipping and discipling girls.

Meet with female students and leaders for one-on-one discipleship and shepherding.

Assist in recruiting and training ministry volunteers.

Assist in outreach to students and increasing student involvement.

Spend a minimum of 12 hours in the LPC office (Monday-Thursday, 8am-5pm).

Perform other duties at the discretion of the Director of Youth & Family Ministry.

Supervision

Reports to the Director of Youth & Family Ministry.

Spiritual Qualifications

She will have a testimony of salvation and, by word and deed, will demonstrate a mature walk with Jesus Christ.

She will demonstrate a commitment to personal spiritual growth.

She will have a good Biblical understanding with doctrinal soundness.
