South City Church, a new church plant on the southern edge of Milwaukee is looking to host a church planting residency for an individual seeking to gain on-the-ground experience in church planting.
South City Church (SCC) is a new EFCA church plant located on the southern edge of Milwaukee. We are an congregational based, elder-led, Reformed, baptistic, evangelical church.
At the recommendation of our EFCA, Forest Lakes District, SCC is looking to host a church planting residency. This residency is intended for an individual who is interested in pursuing church planting and is seeking to gain experience in the field. As an embarking church plant, SCC provides the opportunity to gain on-the-ground experience in church planting.
Depending on the gifting of the particular candidate, the resident should expect to have opportunity to teach/preach, lead small groups, participate in discipleship, lead/facilitate outreach efforts, and carry out tasks related to the logistics of starting a church.
This is a bivocational residency, meaning that the resident will not receive remuneration in association with the position. Unless funding is available elsewhere, the resident would presumably find local employment to support himself financially.
All candidates must meet the Biblical qualifications of elder and be passionate about reaching our community with the gospel through church planting. Candidates must subscribe to South City's Statement of Faith and Philosophy of Ministry. For more information about our church, including our Statement of Faith and Philosophy of Ministry, please visit southcitymke.com.
