Overview

Crossworld, a non-profit mission agency based in Kansas City, Mo., is seeking a full-time Communications Assistant to join an established creative team that delivers compelling, story-based messaging to diverse constituents through varied media channels.

Skills

Because communication is an integrated discipline, the ideal candidate must have strong skills in varied but related areas. These include an aptitude for administrating details and organizing projects; confidence with technology in general; expertise in verbal and written communication; and proficiencies in Microsoft Office (primarily Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher) and Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Photoshop). While these hard skills are essential, they are not more important than the soft skills of a good attitude, teachability, teamwork, and interpersonal health. Photography and videography skills are a desired plus.

Responsibilities

The Communications Assistant will fulfill the administrative tasks of the Communications Department, primarily by managing schedules, assisting with events, and responding to requests for services and materials. This team member will assist with or perform varied tasks such as screening material, researching, fact checking, conducting interviews in person or electronically, writing, editing, proofreading, and designing graphics. He or she may provide photography and videography support as needed.
