Cornerstone Community Church is searching for a Director of Children and Family Ministry (birth - 5th grade). The Director will develop godly relationships with the families of Cornerstone, lead a Bible-based,dynamic program for our children (including Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, and special events such as VBS), and equip parents to teach and model the gospel in the home. This is a full-time, non-ordained position that will report directly to the Senior Pastor and ultimately to the Cornerstone Session.Cornerstone is a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (www.epc.org). We are a congregation of about 450 in weekly worship, with two Sunday services. We currently have approximately 50children participating in our children's ministry.
Primary Responsibilities• To have a supportive role in carrying out Cornerstone's mission statement: Our mission is toglorify God by making disciples of all nations.• To establish and maintain deep and caring relationships with our children and families.• To recruit and equip volunteers to serve in the area of children's ministry.• To assist in the training of parents, equipping them to display the gospel faithfully in the home.• To orchestrate a Christ-centered, robust children's ministry program, including Sunday morningclasses and children's worship, Wednesday evening activities, and seasonal special events (e.g.,family mission trips, children's retreats, parenting workshops or conferences, VBS).• To manage the children's ministry budget and oversee all administrative needs for this ministryarea.Qualifications• Vibrant relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.• Healthy familial relationships.• Sense of calling to this particular area of ministry.• Affirmation of the EPC essentials (www.epc.org/essentials).• Affirmation of the EPC position papers (www.epc.org/positionpapers).• Affirmation of the system of doctrine articulated in the Westminster Confession of Faith andCatechisms (www.epc.org/wcf).• Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in a ministry related field of study. M.Div. preferred.• At least three years ministry experience with children and families.• Excellent communication (oral and written), organization, and time management skills.• Teachable spirit.• Creativity and innovation; willingness to "think outside the box."We hope to fill this position by August 1, 2017.
