Calvary Bible Church in Neenah, WI, (cbcneenah.org) is searching for a full-time Director of Worship. The purpose of the position is to provide leadership to the worship ministries of CBC.
CBC is an elder-led, non-denominational evangelical church of about 1400 people located in Neenah, WI. (Neenah is part of the Fox River Valley, which is home to approximately 350,000 people.) CBC has a wide variety of ministries, including local outreach, children's, youth, women's, men's, and a K-8 Christian school (Fox Valley Christian Academy). CBC is characterized by biblical, Christ-centered preaching, intentional discipleship, love and desire for relationships, and a passion for missions.
Our musical style is band-led and is blended/contemporary with the use of hymns as well as newer songs. The lyrics of songs we sing are God-focused and gospel-centered.
Job responsibilities include:
-Provide direction to the entire worship and musical ministry of the church.
-Provide leadership for all aspects of the musical programs for both youth and adults, and oversee all aspects of exaltation expressed though the arts.
-Work in concert with the Senior Pastor on the design and management of the Sunday worship services to create a cohesive message and experience, including utilization of different formats andforms of musical and creative expression;
-Consult with the Senior Pastor on other worship-related events and programs; plans special events/programs; and provides oversight for musical, drama and other ministry relatedinitiatives.
-Identify, recruit, train and provide spiritual care for volunteers for the various aspects of the ministry,including working with other ministries in development of their musical initiatives (e.g. Children's, Youth).
-Provide directional leadership and supervision to direct reports and delegate responsibilities to others when deemed necessary or beneficial.
-Oversee stage design and the look of the worship center, and work closely with volunteers who assist in this area.
-Create, recommend, and when approved, manage a budget for his areas of responsibility and be responsible for identifying and recommending equipment and technology that enhances the worship environment and experience.
-Be able to present information clearly and concisely; handle confrontation in a constructive manner.
-The position reports to the Senior Pastor and is a part of the Equipping Staff
-spiritual (have a growing love for God in response to his grace in Christ and desire to obey the Lord in all areas of life)
-technical competence (e.g. education and training in the musical field; experience in organizing and rehearsing various musical and instrumental groups; knowledgeable in video, sound, lighting, set designing, equipment, software)
-communication (skill in connecting with the congregation and volunteers)
-administration (planning, organizing, and control),
-Other: personal sensitivity, creativity, integrity and collaboration (e.g. team development).
