The Pastor of Family Ministries will be overseeing the intergenerational ministries of the church. He will administer the structure and atmosphere of the church to ensure that the family of God is working together to build up the body through discipleship, specifically of the next generation. While overseeing the intergenerational ministries of the church, his focus will be on the youth, their parents, and other mentoring adults.


The Pastor of Family Ministries will oversee the discipleship systems from cradle to college. He will work closely with the Senior Pastor and Christian Education Director to ensure that parents are prepared to lead their children and that young people have spiritual mentors when their parent cannot be the model. The Pastor of Family Ministries will also utilize other areas of his spiritual gifts to lead Goodwill Baptist Church in accordance with the church's mission and vision.

Specific Responsibilities:

Lead the GBC Youth (Middle School thru High School) in all ministries including, but not limited to: Sunday School, Youth Group, Monthly Youth Activity, and Outreach Events.Develop and maintain contact with students and parents, keeping them informed of ongoing ministries. Keep parents updated on ministry strategies and plans in a way that encourages partnership and involvement.

Support GBC Youth parents in effectively fulfilling their Christian parenting roles, in connection with the Senior Pastor.

Recruit, train, and organize leaders and teachers for all ministries to the young (cradle to college).

Oversee the ministry leaders of ministries that involve the youth, including but not limited to Awana, VBS, Nursery, Children's Church, Missions Trips, and Sunday School.

Meet for at least one hour each week with the Senior Pastor for encouragement, direction, support, and discipleship.

Assist in specific outreach events as assigned.

Participate in the visitation of shut-ins, hospitalized, and seniors with the Associate Pastor to the Seniors or the Senior Pastor.

Complete any other tasks or responsibilities given by the Senior Pastor.
