Christ the King Community Church
Our church body is trusting God to bring us a (solo) pastor.
Christ the King Community Church is a non-denominational church started in 2006 and has grown to a congregation of up to 200, with an average weekly attendance of 100. In a given week, our youth programs (grades 5-12) draw at least 50, most from outside our congregation. We want to continue to grow as a biblical, community-minded church.
Ponca is a community with a population near 1,000 located in the northeast corner of Nebraska along the Missouri River. We are about 25 miles (30 minutes) from Sioux City, Iowa, a tri-state area with a population of around 100,000. We are about 115 miles (2 hours) from Omaha, Nebraska.
The Mission of Christ the King Community Church, according to the great commission (Matthew 28:19-20), is to bring people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, led by the Holy Spirit, glorifying God through love, prayer, and service, seven days a week.
The vision of Christ the King Community Church, according to the great commandment (Mark 12:28-34), is to love the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind and with all our strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves by building up the body of Christ, nurturing and caring for one another, seeking the lost, and giving to those in need; striving to advance His kingdom, breaking down cultural and denominational barriers; trusting on the Word of God as truth alone.
We seek a Pastor who is gifted to teach biblical truth. He is born-again and will agree with ourMission and Vision. He will be loving, gifted to counsel, and relationship-minded, willing to invest in our rural community and families, and able to minister to the welfare of the membership and community. As a young church, we are learning to disciple children and families (ours, as well as outreach to others), so we desire a Pastor who can help us identify and implement structured programming and events to celebrate as our children and youth grow in their walk with Christ. He will work with our after school and evening youth outreach groups (grades 5/6, Jr. High, and High School), teaching youth, working with co-leaders, and supervising volunteers. Our Pastor serves as the primary contact on our Leadership Team for church ministries (prayer, food pantry, men's andwomen's ministries, etc.). He will be able to communicate with the congregation (website, newsletter, etc.). Our Pastor must be mature enough to lead; he will bring a minimum of three years paid ministerial experience.
As a debt-free church with a solid foundation of faithful giving, we are able to offer a highly competitive salary dependent on experience.
