Overview

Full time pastor sought for a congregational church in rural Hebron, CT. The Hebron Church of Hope (HCOH) is a member of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (CCCC). The CCCC's is a theologically conservative denomination solidly committed to the basic doctrines of Christianity. Candidate must meet the following criteria:

-Should be Biblically based, grounded in grace, with a heart for Jesus, our congregation and the community

-Display Godly Character

-Lead a Godly and Supportive Family, if married

-Stand committed to the Scriptures and Articles of Faith of the CCCC. Our statement of faith is found at: www.hebronchurchofhope.org

-Has or is willing to obtain CCCC credentials

Description

30-40 Hours per week

Prepare preaching/worship schedules in advance and coordinate and plan with worship ministry team and elders to ensure that worship services are effective regarding content, style, structure and design.

Set aside specific time for study and preparation of the sermon, while maintaining weekly office hours. We place a strong priority on the teaching of God's Word in an ex-positional manner. The ideal candidate would be led by the Holy Spirit, communicating Biblical truth, along with practical application. Lead weekly bible study and new membership classes.

Provide overall spiritual vision and leadership of the church with elders. Adhere to the decisions of the elders in conjunction with the by-laws of the church. Hold regularly scheduled elder meetings and provide direction, support and encouragement.

Monitor the spiritual needs of the congregation and the integrity of the ministry as it relates to the church's purpose and values.

Continue our current culture of enabling congregational care through training and encouraging members to care for each other as an example of their love for Christ. Perform premarital or other counseling for church members as needed. Officiate weddings and funerals. Visit and minister to members and prospective members as needed.

Recognize the potential of impacting our community for Christ through inspiring, equipping, and motivating our congregation to share the gospel with our community. Spend intentional time in the community by engaging and working with other ministries and organizations in Hebron, CT and surrounding areas.

PERSONAL GROWTHAt Hebron Church of Hope we recognize that a pastor needs to have a consistent daily relationship with Jesus, time to study and grow, time to rest and refresh, while maintaining a work and family balance. The ideal candidate would devote time to spiritual, mental, and overall well-being through personal discipline. QUALIFICATIONSWe would prefer someone with a seminary degree in a related field of study (i.e. pastoral ministry, leadership, theology) The candidate will meet the qualifications of elders listed in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
