Overview

The preschool minister supports all ministry efforts associated with the Preschool Ministry on all campuses including vision casting, team leading, and curriculum development. This is a full-time exempt position (40+ hours/week), Sunday through Thursday. This person shares the Gospel and faith through creativity, teaching, and writing.

Description

  1. Meet with the Childhood Ministry Director to support and carry out the vision of LH Kids with the preschool team
  2. Lead the preschool staff team:
      1. Provide focus, motivation, and a sense of unity
      2. Make certain that each team member knows his/her role, responsibilities, and timeline
      3. Provide for mutual accountability on the team
      4. Challenge team members to set and meet goals
      5. Communicate effectively and clearly to all team members
      6. Constantly evaluate and invest in the team to ensure individual and collective growth
  3. Curriculum Development
      1. Develop and create original preschool curriculum that aligns with the Senior Pastor's sermon series
      2. Recognize developmental stages of preschoolers from birth through age five
      3. contribute to the overall planning and design of the curriculum, including but not limited to: creating and editing story outlines, identifying age appropriate Bible truths and activities, editing Bible story content
      4. Develop, write, and implement lessons for two year old content on a weekly basis
      5. Develop resources for children from brith through 23 months
      6. Provide consistent leadership and management over the curriculum development and creation
  4. Recruit, train and develop volunteer leaders
      1. Oversee the entire process of volunteer recruitment, training, role assignment, orientation, follow-up, encouragement and continued leadership development
      2. Develop and implement volunteer appreciation strategies to increase volunteer retention
      3. Mange Planning Center Online and schedule all Sunday volunteers and work with the preschool ministry assistants to schedule Wednesday volunteers and cover weekly schedules as needed
      4. Develop and implement a volunteer leadership structure to provide oversight, accountability, and ongoing development for all volunteers
      5. Maintain a standard of excellence among volunteers and their approach to ministry
  5. Mange the Preschool Budget
  6. Engage parents and families to encourage spiritual growth
