The Senior Pastor will have the primary responsibility for spiritual leadershipof the church body, preaching, teaching and equipping the congregation forministry

Pastoral Duties:

Preaching and teaching God's Word

Responsibility for and oversight of worship services

Administration of the ordinances (baptisms, communion, etc.)

Provide pastoral care and nurture (visitation, counseling)

Officiate at weddings and funerals

Leadership Duties:

Cast overall vision for WLCC

Work with Elders to organize and develop the ministry of WLCC

Keep focus on mission of the church (Love God, Love Others, Serve the World)

Oversight of planning and executing long term and short term ministry objectives

Develop and disciple leaders

Management/Administration Duties:

Manage staff (paid and volunteer)

General oversight of Financial Team and church budget

General oversight of Facilities Team

Community/Affiliation

NEDA Module with EFCA Pastors

NEDA Conference

Annual EFCA Theology Conference

Nurture relationships with other churches in town

Represent church to town/community

Qualifications:

A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ

Consistent spiritual and moral character and lifestyle, fulfilling the biblical leadership

qualifications of an elder as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9

Agreement with the WLCC Statement of Faith·

Strong organization and administration skills

Effective in personal relationships

Experienced in Bible teaching and preaching

A minimum of 5 years diversified pastoral ministry experience

Minimum education – Master's degree preferred

Ordination preferred – willing to seek ordination in EFCA*

Accountability:

The Senior Pastor is accountable to the congregationally elected Board of Elders, the GuidingPrinciples determined by the Board of Elders and by the church By-Laws*.

*Church by-laws arecurrently undergoing revision to change the ordination requirement.
