Senior Pastor

Job type: Full-time

Category: Senior/Lead Pastor

Location: Harvest, AL Post Date: September 20, 2017

Overview

Capshaw Baptist Church (CBC) is currently seeking its next Senior Pastor, called by God, biblically qualified, possessing exemplary character with a humble spirit, committed to faithful biblical preaching/teaching, and building up and equipping the body to reach the lost at home and abroad.

Capshaw celebrated its 100th anniversary on August 27th, 2017. From the humble beginning of a few families in the former community of Lax, Capshaw's average worship attendance (September 2016to 2017) is 530. We gather together in debt-free facilities and a worship center that is capable of seating 1,100. A member of the SBC, CBC is located in the community of Harvest, roughly ten miles to the northwest of Huntsville, AL – The Rocket City. The estimated population within a ten-mile radius of the church is 188,000 with an expected increase of just over six percent by 2022 which is just under twice the national average. Over the past 20 years, CBC has completed several building projects and remodeled interior spaces to maximize functionality and appeal, adding worship and small group times as needed to temporarily accommodate growth. Additionally, missions efforts have been extended, a church plant established in neighboring Tennessee, greeter and welcome center ministries established to assist visitors and members alike and most recently a modernization of worship sound and video systems was completed, making simulcast and on-line worship viewing possible. Although the area maintains its southern charm, it has become a melting-pot of culture brought here from around the world to support the many Department of Defense (DOD) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) programs. The influence of multi-culturalism, technology and an engineering mindset are unmistakable at Capshaw.

Capshaw's mission is to glorify God by obediently making and equipping disciples of Jesus Christ. At the heart of this mission are our core values captured in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, which views the person and work of Christ as the foundation, as well as the motivation for everything we do personally and corporately.
