We are searching for an Assistant Minister – Maturity and Mission


Who we are

We are an Evangelical Reformed Anglican Church with a vision to see lives transformed through Jesus Christ to the glory of God in the Multicultural West of Sydney and Rooty Hill in particular.Our God desired outcomes by 2025 are to:- Grow MBM Rooty Hill to 1,500 in faithfulness and fruitfulness- Make 1,000 new disciples- Strengthen other churches and their leaders The main strategy underpinning these goals is to plant 5 new churches off base. By God's grace, we currently have just over 1,000 adults and children from 70 different cultures. In 2018 we will launch a 5th Sunday service at Rooty Hill.The key tasks of the successful applicant will include:


• Regular preaching duties• Oversight of all public Bible teaching (Sunday services, small groups, 1-1, seminars and courses) with a view to grow disciples in their love and knowledge of God and to be more like Jesus• Working with a number of key volunteers to resource, equip and grow our 57 Small Groups led by 82 leaders. This includes managing a Bible Study Writing Team • Oversight of our Men's and Women's Conference • Liaising with key volunteers to oversee 1-1 discipleship of men and women


• Oversight of our Explaining Christianity course (1-2 per term) as well as the follow-up Firm Foundations groups• Oversight and evaluation of the evangelistic content of all church ministries (kids, youth, adults) and services through the lens of an outsider • Train, equip and encourage gifted evangelists within our church


• Set the vision for the Sunday 6pm service• Lead the leadership team at our 6pm service • To seek to unify and balance the different teams• Champion the 6pm congregation within the staff team

• personal evangelism and discipleship• raising up and training leaders

Expectations:• humble, marked by teachable attitude• a clear teacher of God's word who can contextualize the gospel• a heart for the lost of western Sydney• excellent leadership & communication skills• ability to work in an ethnically diverse church across all ages• self-starter and entrepreneurial• works well with the staff team as first priority• achieved approximately 3 years of fruitful, relevant ministry work • a commitment to a reformed, evangelical and complementarian position• have a lot of fun!

Desirable (not essential):• familiar with a 'purpose-shaped' church structure• suitable theological qualifications• ordained (or prepared to consider)The candidate would need to have demonstrated fruitfulness and experience in: • personal evangelism and discipleship• raising up and training leaders.
