We are looking for an engaging leader who is sold-out to Jesus Christ and willing to intentionally take the gospel and integrate it into our congregational singing, corporate prayer, and other weekly service elements. We want someone who thrives in a collaborative team environment and is great with people—able to lead our congregation and equip others for the work of ministry. 



  • Meets the qualifications of a deacon: sound in life, faith, and doctrine (Acts 6; 1 Tim. 3)
  • In full agreement with Mill Creek's Mission, Commitments, and Statement of Faith
  • Holds a deep belief and passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ that evidences itself in understanding, believing, and treasuring God's message
  • Is gifted by the Spirit for leadership
  • Connects well relationally with the staff and congregation


1. Model Faithfulness to the Mission

  • Is being discipled as well as making disciples (i.e. sharing Jesus with the lost, encouraging toward corporate worship, LifeGroups, and mentoring)
  • Demonstrates fruit of gospel belief by being a loving, humble, flexible, servant-hearted, hard-working, initiative-taking, always-improving team player

2. General Duties

  • Ensure that areas of oversight advance the mission
  • Seek excellence through regular evaluation and strategies for improvement
  • Results-focused leadership capable of training volunteers
  • Participate in church services, member's meetings, and other events as possible
  • Reports to the lead teaching pastor who may assign other duties as necessary

3. Provide Leadership in Music Ministry

  • Lead the Music Ministry by managing
    • Corporate worship song selection and arrangements o Worship service order with Gospel rhythm intentionality
    • Mid-week practice with band and tech team
    • The music, volunteers, tech, and congregational singing Sunday morning
  • Lead the Music Team by
    • Recruiting, developing, and managing volunteers
    • Clearly communicating and scheduling volunteers (i.e. music, tech)
    • Improving processes and systems (i.e. communication, software)
    • Managing the music team budget
    • Ensuring volunteers have necessary instruments and gear
    • Establishing Mill Creek hymnody

4. Provide Additional Leadership:

  • Leading in at least one other area of natural giftedness (e.g. administration, management, creative design, teaching, communications, volunteer management, software oversight, or another area to be determined).
